Thanks for the explanation. So to summarise:
- The member nodes rendered on the backend and sent to the frontend will have their positions set in document coordinates, and not in coordinate system that uses the container group as origin for these members
- As the groups move on the client side (because of manual dragging or some diagram event) their member nodes are also moved in synchronisation to maintain the structure of the layout
