does it matter if i place the .licx file in the dll or the exe of the application?
I'm trying to run it on a machine other then the developer's and get an error...

It has to be in the project that builds the .EXE. That’s a restriction of the Microsoft licensing architecture.
What I have experienced is if you build a project and then later rename the executabel file that it could produce a license error given you use the published application on a system taht is not running GoDiagram.
