How can I set the group and its members to surpass other nodes in the diagram ?
I tried to use zOrder.
Does not help
Attached 2 closed group in first picture.
The second picture shows the left group being expanded.
Please advise.

Could you please explain/illustrate what you mean by “surpass”?
If you mean z-ordering, it might be easiest to change the layerName of the Group and of all of its member Parts. You can call Group.findSubGraphParts.
[EDIT] Oh, so you don’t want a layout to arrange the diagram with the larger group because it’s expanded?
