I’m trying to make a demo for a potential customer. However I’m unable to use images in the pipe example. Is this possible? If so what is the best approach for using images?

Yes, that is quite possible. It should be somewhat simpler than the Pipes sample because that sample needs to account for the thickness of the stroke that is drawn around each shape, so that the nodes could overlap in order to fit together nicely. But if you used images/Pictures that would not be needed. Furthermore you might not need to have curves unless you really want to create jigsaw puzzle pieces.
